Artist statement
I paint in oils in a loose, impressionistic style using both the palette knife and brush. I strive to capture emotions and atmosphere focusing on use of colors, values and design using very little actual details.
I paint a wide range of subject matters from seascapes, figures, florals, landscapes and architecture. So many things interest me! I love painting and it brings me such pleasure. I like every aspect of the task from preparing the substrate to varnishing the painting. I want my paintings to bring pleasure and enjoyment to the viewer, capture the viewer. It brings me such joy when a view steps in for a closer look or comes back to look again at my paintings.
