Bio
A native of Pennsylvania, Dave Reinbold grew up in a neighborhood of brick row homes, fenced in yards, open fields and alleyways. His love of drawing and light began at a very early age, coloring with crayons and experimenting with small tins of watercolor on lined yellow paper. His pre-school years were spent daydreaming in front of a dining room window in his parents’ home, sitting and watching the sunlight as it moved and changed objects and surfaces from mysterious hidden obscurity to objects and surfaces bathed in light. Dave’s fascination with light, line and air continued throughout his school years, and with a strong foundation in drawing, he found an expressive outlet of communication. In undergraduate and graduate school, Dave further honed his skills as a draughtsman and painter, garnering awards, with his work making its way into private and museum collections.

Artist statement
My passion is for light, whether it be streaming through a window, cutting across an open field or lighting up a lawn chair in the early morning. My paintings are about light and color and the direct application of paint. They express a feeling of the time of day and those fleeting moments of brilliance.
